Materials

Selected & Rated Tone Woods

At Belforti Instruments®, we don't just pick any piece of wood; we choose tonewoods that meet the highest standards of quality and resonance. Our selection process involves careful sourcing from sustainable and reputed suppliers, followed by meticulous grading and rating. Each piece undergoes frequency testing and visual inspection to ensure optimal sound quality and aesthetic appeal. The aim is to provide you, the musician, with an instrument that doesn't just look good, but sounds incredible too.

Premium Materials

When it comes to creating an instrument that stands the test of time and performance, every component matters. That's why we go beyond wood and invest in premium materials for every part of our guitars. From aerospace-grade carbon fiber reinforcements in the neck to top-of-the-line hardware, our focus is on durability, reliability, and optimum sound quality. Our fret wires, truss rods, and even the finishing lacquers are sourced from industry leaders, ensuring that every detail adds to the overall excellence of the instrument.

Selected Bone Nuts

Our premium bone nut is sourced from free-range French bulls, providing the highest quality and sustainable material for your instrument. This carefully selected bone not only ensures optimal string vibration transmission but also aligns with our commitment to ethical and environmentally friendly practices. It's a choice that not only enhances your guitar's performance but also supports responsible sourcing.

Full Length Angled Carbon Reinforcement

Craftsmanship meets technology in our unique approach to neck stability. Our guitars feature angled carbon fiber reinforcements embedded into the neck, ensuring a blend of rigidity and flexibility that stands up to the demands of diverse playing styles. The carbon fiber complements the natural characteristics of the wood, providing a neck that remains stable through changes in temperature and humidity. This subtle yet critical feature allows for improved playability and minimizes the need for frequent adjustments.

Our carbon reinforcements are installed up the the end of the neck, preventing rising tongue issues, and are installed at an angle to take advantange of the rods superior compression strength over flexion strength.

CNC’d Fretboards

In a world where the smallest details make the biggest difference, our use of CNC technology for crafting fretboards stands as a testament to our commitment to precision. By utilizing CNC machining, we ensure that each fret slot is cut with absolute accuracy, perfectly matching the radius of the fretboard. This eliminates any gaps between the fret and the bottom of the slot, creating a tight, seamless fit. The benefit? No room for humidity to penetrate, which aids in the longevity and stability of the fretboard and the instrument as a whole. This attention to detail ensures your guitar not only plays beautifully but also stands the test of time.

PLEK Treatment

At Belforti Instruments, we believe in providing the highest level of playability and precision for our guitars, which is why we incorporate PLEK treatment into our setup process. The PLEK machine meticulously scans and dresses each fret, ensuring perfect fret height and eliminating any inconsistencies. This results in a flawlessly leveled fretboard, offering unparalleled comfort and playability across the entire neck. With the PLEK treatment, you can expect precise intonation, smoother playability, and an overall enhanced playing experience. Trust Belforti Instruments to deliver the ultimate in performance and craftsmanship with our state-of-the-art PLEK treatment.

Easy Truss Rod Access

Our instruments feature a spokewheel design that allows for quick and effortless truss rod adjustments without the need for unscrewing or removing any parts of your instrument. Located at the base of the neck, the easily accessible adjustment wheel ensures that you can fine-tune the neck relief with precision, directly from the headstock. Whether you're in the studio, on stage, or tweaking your setup at home, this user-friendly system means that perfect playability is always at your fingertips

Brass Threaded Inserts

We don't take shortcuts when it comes to the longevity of your instrument. That's why we've implemented brass threaded inserts for all screws, ensuring that they don't go directly into the wood. This seemingly small detail has a big impact, virtually eliminating the risk of stripping the wood or loosening the hardware over time. By doing so, we make certain that every component of your guitar or bass stays in its place, just as it should be. Whether you're a touring musician or an enthusiastic hobbyist, you can be confident that your instrument will withstand the test of time.

Matching Pickup Shells

Every Belforti comes with custom color or wood matching pickup shells, to avoid spoiling our beautiful designs with plastic. For our E-Series, each shell is expertly painted to match the guitar's finish, providing a seamless and aesthetically pleasing look. In our M & S Series, the pickup shells are meticulously machined from the top piece of the instrument, ensuring a perfect fit and maintaining the natural beauty of the wood. These matching pickup shells not only enhance the visual appeal of our guitars but also contribute to their cohesive design and exceptional craftsmanship.

Optima Gold Strings for Belforti®

We understand that strings are more than just an accessory; they are the voice of your instrument. That's why we've partnered with Optima to bring you custom 24k Gold plated strings designed exclusively for Belforti Instruments®. These aren't your average strings; they're engineered for longevity, resisting oxidation to give you enduring, fresh-sounding performance. On top of their unmatched durability, the strings feature exposed cores, maximizing the contact area between the strings and the saddles. This results in enhanced sustain, resonance, and tonal clarity, providing you a richer, fuller sound. With Optima Gold Strings, you're not just playing; you're making a statement.

Single Saddle Bridge

For all of our instruments, we use the Single Saddle Bridge. One of the standout advantages Single Saddle Bridge is its ability to isolate each string, preventing the unwanted sympathetic vibrations that can occur with traditional one-block bridges. This meticulous design ensures that when you play one string, it stays focused, producing clear and precise notes without any interference from neighboring strings. Until 2025 we were using Hipshot’s bridge, and starting from now our own proprietary bridge is produced by ABM in Germany, with the highest standards you can expect from this renowned manufacturer.

Thin Frets

At the heart of our design philosophy is the desire to let the natural characteristics of the wood shine through. That's why we opt for thin frets in all our instruments. Unlike thicker frets, which can act as a tonal filter, thin frets allow for a more unobstructed vibration of the string, capturing more of the inherent woody sound of the guitar. This results in a richer, more nuanced tone that resonates with the qualities of the selected tonewoods. Whether you're strumming chords or playing intricate solos, our thin frets help maintain the integrity of your sound.

Certified Premium Electronics

Every electronic components we use for our guitars are certified and built by industry leading partners. We utilize Pure Tone Jacks for their superior signal transfer and durability, ensuring your connection is always reliable. Our guitars are wired with premium, high-quality wires and pots that provide precise control and exceptional tonal clarity. Additionally, each instrument features meticulous copper shielding to eliminate unwanted noise and interference, delivering a pure, uninterrupted sound. Experience the pinnacle of electronic craftsmanship with Belforti's premium certified electronics, designed to enhance your playing experience with flawless performance and unrivaled reliability.

Finishes

UltraThin Polyurethane

A guitar's finish not only contributes to its aesthetic appeal but also has a significant impact on its tonal qualities. At Belforti Instruments®, we employ an ultra-thin polyurethane finish that serves a dual purpose: it protects the wood while allowing it to resonate more freely, ensuring that the intrinsic tonal characteristics of our premium tonewoods shine through. This meticulously applied finish is durable enough to stand the test of time, yet thin enough to preserve the wood's natural resonance, offering the best of both worlds.

In sum, the real question isn't about which material is used, but how it's used. At Belforti®, we've perfected the art and science of the Polyurethane High-Gloss Finish, giving you an instrument that doesn't just look beautiful—it sounds beautiful, too.

Extensive Paint Options

Your instrument should be as unique as you are. That's why Belforti Instruments® offers an extensive range of paint options to suit every style and personality. Whether you're seeking the elegance of a classic sunburst, the pop of a vibrant solid color, or even the nuanced sophistication of our specialty finishes, our palette is carefully curated to ensure that you find the perfect match for your aesthetic desires. Each finish is applied with artisanal precision to ensure lasting beauty and ultimate tone quality.

Outstanding & Unique Finishes

Our outstanding and unique finishes are a testament to our commitment to craftsmanship and artistic expression. Inspired by nature, marine life, and cultural motifs, each finish is a work of art in itself. Whether you choose a Foglio-inspired design or something drawn from the beauty of the natural world, your instrument will not only sound exceptional but also stand as a visual masterpiece, showcasing your individuality and appreciation for the finer details in life.
